This shirt features Tanker 92 flown by Lars Stratte of Redding, California, who flew out of Chico. The extended air attack family lost Lars shortly after this design was completed. He gave his life in the line of duty while fighting a fire in Mendocino County on August 27, 2001. A tragic mid-air collision occured involving Lars and fellow airtanker pilot Larry Groff of Windsor, California, who flew out of Santa Rosa (Tanker 87). This shirt will forever be a remembrance of the men who gave their lives fighting fires from the air. We salute you and dedicate this shirt to you, Lars, and extend our prayers to the families and loved ones of both these fine men.
